Fighting Infections with Melaleuca Oil

I am a 30 year insulin dependent type 1 diabetic. Currently, I use an insulin pump and Humalog insulin. I have high blood pressure, have had 2 heart attacks. Have had vision problems and serious neuropathy damage. When I review all of the procedures I have had over the last 15 years, it is frightening to say the least. Here is the list:

The following can be the result of many years of not understanding and not facing Sugar Diabetes:

1. Neuropathy of the feet and many surgeries treating infections including finally broken foot bones and many foot ulcers.

2. Amputation of three fingers on my left hand due to staff infections and poor blood sugar control.

3. Many, many laser surgeries for hemorrhaging of the eyes and finally vitrectomys
completed in each eye. This has been very successful for stopping the hemorrhaging.

4. Left leg amputated below the left knee due to unsuccessful healing of the foot and neuropathy. I walk with a prosthetic leg.

5. Triple by-pass heart surgery.

6. Fighting infections with every cut, scrap or blister potentially turning into an ulcer.

The Melaleuca oil is the best daily medication I use for protection and fighting infection. I have saved thousands of dollars from the cost of conventional wound centers by using Melaleuca oil. This is a must for diabetics. I also experience tremendously dry skin and have caused many ulcers to form due to callus and cracking. The Renew skin lotion does the trick. I appreciate your efforts in teaching about diabetics and cardiovascular care. Melaleuca is the preventative measure along with diet and exercise. I have learned though, I have to take responsibility of my diabetes. I used to think that my doctor always could medicate my problems.

My height is 6'1" and I weigh 212. I am working on reducing my weight to 185.

Need to Decrease his Insulin

I would like to share with you my husband's story regarding Melaleuca and diabetes. Ron is a Type II diabetic. He has been a diabetic for 30 years. We joined Melaleuca in April 1997. We immediately started taking the Vitality Pack & Provex Plus.

He saw an immediate need to decrease his insulin. When they came out with Provex CV, we switched and again he lowered his insulin (he is VERY insulin resistant). A year ago we upped his dosage from 1/40 pounds of body weight to 1/30 pounds of body weight. AGAIN he had to decrease his insulin. Overall, he has decreased his insulin usage by 40-50% other benefits - he is no longer getting water blisters on the shins of his legs. In the 4 1/2 years we have been members, we both have had only an occasional slight cold. He did have pneumonia once. It used to be that we could "count" on his being sick with a bad cold for 6-8 weeks every winter/spring. We are both very grateful for the Melaleuca products.

Another point of interest - he had 13 laser treatments for diabetic retinopathy 6-8 years ago. Other than a slow growing catarac that is starting, the doctors are AMAZED at the health of his eyes!

I use the hydrating body lotion on his feet - he grows calluses and has to have them trimmed every four weeks. I was using a prescription lotion with lanolin. After I switched to this product, to see how it would do, the Podiatrist & his technician have commented on how soft his feet are. It looks like we'll be able to extend the time to five weeks between "trims" now.

Severe Diabetic Retinopathy

I have had diabetes for over 36 years, through the years I have developed a few of the complications with this condition. I have severe diabetic retinopathy in my eyes, when I was advised to go to the Mayo Clinic I was told they were not sure if they could save my sight. I had many laser treatments over a 2 year period of time and one vetrectomy surgery a few years later. Other things started happening, such as my cholesterol level was high, my blood glucose levels were harder to control, plus the Doctor said I was showing signs of kidney damage.

My friend Patti asked if she could show me about some products she heard helped other diabetics, I hesitantly agreed to meet with her thinking it was going to be "one of those". Patti and her friend Vicki came and showed me about a company called Melaleuca, the vitamins they offered and all the wonderful properties of the Melaleuca oil.

I first tried the oil and a few of the cleaning products. Using the oil in just a few different situations, I found it to heal various problems like athlete’s foot, a boil, burns, cuts etc, in just a short amount of time, this was very impressive as usually, I took longer to heal with this condition. I decided to try the vitamins to see if they were as good as they made them sound, as they had a 90 day guarantee so I could return them if they didn’t work for me. Within a month I really could feel the increased amount of energy, others could also tell that I felt better. From there I started to take the Provex, starting with the saturation dose of 6 a day for the first week and then to the 2 a day. As I read more about the Provex products I switched to the Provex Plus then changed to Provex CV when that was introduced, as it was highly recommended for diabetics.

After the first year of taking the Vitality Pack & ProvexCV my cholesterol was back to the normal range, my vision and my blood pressure improved, I did not have any bladder infection problems which had been a constant battle and I just felt better all around.

To shorten the story I now take on a daily basis:
The Daily 4 Life Pack (love the new packets!),
NutraView, 1 per day
Replenex, 2 to 3 per day

Since I started taking the Nutraview I have noticed an improvement in my night vision and the cataracts that I was told I might need to have removed in 6 months have not grown any larger. I was told at my last eye exam that my vision again has improved some and there were little signs that I had the vetrectomy surgery and the scar tissue from the laser treatments has healed extremely well. My last Endocrinologist appointment the Doctor said my kidney function is also showing improvements.

I have been using an insulin pump for 3 years now and use the liquid soap for cleaning the infusion injection site and the Renew Bath Oil when I remove the infusion to change the site and have had no problems with infections or healing.? I use the Access bar before doing any strenuous exercise, which helps maintain my blood sugar and the Attain drinks and bars when I need a quick meal. We use many of the Melaleuca products through out our home now and would not be without them!

I Have More Energy

I have been a diabetic for 33 years and have been on an insulin pump for the past 5 years. I recently started using the vitality pack, cell wise and the attain bars. Within the past 8 days I've had to lower my insulin doses twice. I was on a total of 24 units of insulin in a 24 hour period, and now I am down to 19.4 units in a 24 hour period.

This is great, because not only is my control of my diabetes getting better, but I am starting to feel so much better, and I have more energy. If you know people that have type 1 or 2 diabetes I would definitely share these products with them, it will definitely help improve their quality
of life with diabetes!

These Products Have Changed My Life

I have been using the Melaleuca products for three years, and these products have changed my life. I want to share the different ways that these products have helped me, so possibly they can help you.

The first product that had an impact on me was the tooth polish. I was having a tarter problem with my teeth. One month after going to the dentist my teeth would have tarter on them. My dentist wanted me to come in every 3 months, but I did not want to go because I did not like the pain that took place when they scraped my teeth. I had also had my roots cleaned at a price of $800. Due to using the Tooth Polish, Breath Away and the dental tape, I now go to the dentist once a year with very little plaque. My gums do not bleed and I can drink ice water again. This not only keeps my teeth and gums clean, but is saves me a lot of money.

I did not use the vitamins at first as I thought that they cost too much and that the fructose compounded minerals in the vitamins would raise my blood sugar. We found that we were able to save money using the safe cleaning products so we decided to share the products with a few friends.

One of our friends was a biology teacher. My biology teacher friend asked me if I used the vitamins. I told him that I did not as I felt that they were too expensive and I was concerned about the fructose in them. Since our bodies are so mineral deficient, he felt that this delivery system, that is patented, could get the minerals into my cells. He did not feel that their could be too much fructose in them, which I found out that the amount of fructose in the daily recommended amount of vitamins was equivalent to eating one cherry.

I still resisted because of the cost, but then I could try them at no risk for 90 days. This meant that it would not cost me anything to try them as free is less expensive than cheap. I then started taking the MEL-VITA and MELACAL and Cell-Wise in May of 1995. In that first month on the program I started having insulin reactions and my blood sugars ran lower than they used to. I am on an insulin pump so it was easy for me to adjust my insulin intake, as I tested my blood sugars four times a day.

During this first month I was able to lower my need for insulin about 10%. Provex then came out in June. I decided to try it also as I thought that I had nothing to lose. I started by taking 6 capsules a day for tissue saturation. This is when you take one Provex for each 25 pounds of body weight. I weigh 160 pounds so I took enough for 150 pounds. I started taking 6 capsules per day on Thursday and I had 3 insulin reactions on Saturday and 3 insulin reactions on Sunday. I reduced my insulin intake by another 10% and then I had good control again. I am now taking 8 units of insulin for breakfast instead of 10 units. Because of what happened to me, I would not encourage diabetics to take more than 2 Provex a day to start off with. I would then work up gradually to the saturation dose and adjust your insulin. I have since switched to Provex Plus. I can not believe that I have cut my insulin intake by 20%, that I need less sleep and I over all feel better.

When school started the nurse asked me if I wanted my PSA checked. It was only going to cost $6 so I had it done. The results came back elevated and I was eventually diagnosed with cancer. Prior to having prostate surgery I started taking 6 Provex a day to help me heal after surgery. I went to Rochester for surgery and was told that I would be in the hospital for 6 days. Three days after the surgery the doctor came in and removed the drainage tubes and sent me to a motel for two days. I went back to see him in two days to have the staples removed and then went home for 10 days before the catheter was taken out. Again I was told that I should have blood in my urine. I was amazed how I did not have any of the complications that I was told to expect as a diabetic. I also went back to work in 4 weeks, rather than the 6 weeks I was told that it would take. I feel that my recovery was a result of the vitamins and minerals that I was taking.

In January I went to my eye doctor and he was amazed how the arteries in the back of my eyes looked. The year before I had slight bleeding in the arteries, but that was gone now. He told me that my arteries looked better than a normal 50 year old.

Melaleuca has helped me make it through some tough times in my life. Some of the other Melaleuca products that have really helped me are the Antibacterial Liquid Soap that I use to clean my site area for my insulin pump and I have never had an infection. I also use the soap to clean my hands before I test my blood four times a day. My fingers do not get dry because I don’t use the alcohol swabs. I use the T36 C5 on any cuts and especially on my feet as well as the Triple Antibiotic Ointment for healing. The Renew Skin Lotion is great for conditioning the skin of the feet.

My leg muscles used to burn all the time as I jog from 3 to 8 miles a day. By exercising my insulin seems to work better. I am now able to eat a whole Access Bar and when I run 5 miles, and my blood sugar will be the same at the end of my run.

I also use the Sustain or Attain for a snack and they take 2.5 units of insulin. These products taste great and they do not send my blood sugars sky high. These products have really enhanced my life. Before I got on the vitamins, I didn’t heal that well. I use have to put pressure on my finger for up to a minute to stop the bleeding when I tested my blood. Today I just wipe it off. I have recently started taking the Replenex every day and my insulin need has dropped another 5%.

Increased Circulatory Benefits - A Personal Experience

Last spring I went to my 30 year high school reunion. One of my dearest friends walked like he had very tender feet. I asked him why he was walking so tender footed and he said, "Terrilee, my feet have been cold and in pain for years due to my diabetes." He is a respiratory therapist and stands on his feet for 12 hours a day! I told him that I was going to send him three bottles from my wellness catalog and I wanted him to take 4 in the am and 4 in the pm - gift from me. Robbie is a very large man and that is why I started him on so much. I got a call a few days later and he said, "I have used the ProvexPlus for SIX DAYS and my feet are warm and not in pain for the first time in years." If he forgets to take his ProvexPlus, he is in pain. ProvexPlus opens the capillary circulation (which is very poor in diabetes) and therefore is powerful in helping move blood through the body. Add the Vitality Pak to the body and you've got more healthy cells generated by the circulatory system. Melaleuca is such a powerful catalog for diabetes because of the healing properties of the Melaleuca oil and the increased circulatory benefits through ProvexPlus. Share this with a Diabetic person!! They'll be thanking you and giving you lots of hugs! -Terrilee

Incredible Results All Round!

Finally last week the Doctor was able to pin point my ill health, it was actually good health. Since going on to the Melaleuca Daily 4 Life Pack + Phytomega, my body has not been this well, that combined with my weight loss and Access Bars, I was just very healthy. So why was I so ill, well my doctor did not believe that I could improve so quickly so I have been over-medicated for both my allergic rhyinitus and my diabetes.

This has made me very tired, and given my viral symptoms.
Finally 2 weeks ago I had a glucose feed tube test where my reaction to glucose was measured against my medication, I also had a HBC1 blood test. Well the ideal figure is under 7, but all diabetics are over 7 so we are given medication to bring us down to 7. My last reading was 11 in September so I was medicated to reduce this. My reading came back two weeks ago as 6.4! This is amazing, as I had stopped taking some of my medication because I kept passing out. An amazed Doctor wrote excellent on my chart for the first time in my life, after a week of the new drugs I am feeling like a new woman.

I have also had my allergy medication reduced as the Daily 4 Life has improved that too. So in telling the doctor of our long flight I asked if I should take aspirin as he had recommended in the past, NO he said what ever you are doing to your blood with that mela stuff keep doing it.

So after some 7 months of feeling really ill, I am back on track and well. Now do you think Melaleuca should put a health warning on their products to say 'Beware this could make you well and you may need to reduce man made products with side affects if you use these products' As an aside I have lost 51 lbs on Access Bars since October when they arrived and I look somewhat different to the time when I enrolled. If ever you need a product story on Access and the Daily 4 Life changing an English girls life then here it is.

A Mutivitamin and Mineral Supplement Should Be One of the Foundations of a Nutritional Program for Type 2 Diabetics

Multivitamin and Mineral Supplement Decreases Infections in Type 2 Diabetics Reference: Barringer T, Kirk J, Santaniello A, et al. Effects of a multivitamin and mineral supplement on infection and quality of life. Ann Intern Med 2003;138:365-71. Design: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Participants:130 community-dwelling adults stratified by age (45 to 64 years or > 65 years) and the presence or absence of type 2 diabetes. Participants were stratified by age and diabetes because increasing age and presence of diabetes are associated with decreased immune function and increased likelihood of micronutrient deficiency and susceptibility to infection. The overall sample of participants was predominately female, white and between the ages of 45 and 64 years. Two thirds of the sample were overweight and obese and approximately 30% had type 2 diabetes. Study Medication and Dosage: Multivitamin mineral supplement (see below for list of ingredients) or placebo, one tablet q.d. The placebo tablet contained 120 mg calcium, 100 mg magnesium and 3.4 mg riboflavin. The ingredients for the placebo were chosen so the tablet would look and smell similar to the complete multivitamin mineral supplement and would cause the same changes in color in the participant's urine. Both preparations were prepared by Tischon Corporation (Westbury, NY). Duration: One year Outcome Measures: The primary end point of this study was the incidence of participant-reported infection and infection-associated absenteeism. The secondary end point, quality of life, was assessed at baseline and at 12 months by a proxy measure of physical and mental health obtained by using the Medical Outcome Study12-Item Short Form (SF-12). Nutritional status was assessed with a 3-day food diary that participants kept at baseline and at 6 months. Nutrient deficiency, for the purpose of this study, was defined as intake below the 33rd percentile of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for zinc, selenium, iron, folic acid, or vitamins A, C, E or B6.Key Findings: At baseline, diabetic participants were more likely than non-diabetic participants to be deficient in one or more micronutrients (33% vs. 19%; p = 0.06). Seventy-three percent of the participants in the placebo group experienced one or more infection-related illnesses compared to 43% in the treatment group (p < style="font-weight: bold;">The results of this one-year trial suggest that a mutivitamin and mineral supplement should be one of the foundations of a nutritional program for type 2 diabetics. The high incidence of micronutrient deficiencies in this population affect not only immune function but have also been associated with some diabetic complications such as neuropathy and cardiovascular disease. A larger clinical trial is needed to determine whether these findings can be extended to prevention of chronic diseases/complications as well in these populations.

The Effects of Weight and Diabetes

According to Dr. Simeon Margolis, M.D., Ph.D., professor of medicine and biological chemistry at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Obesity increases the risk of diabetes, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, high blood triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, osteoarthritis, gallbladder disease, sleep apnea and colorectal cancer.Although the exact mechanism varies with the complicating disease, in general, obesity interferes with the action of insulin, the hormone that regulates the level of glucose in the blood. Tissues become insulin- resistant, which causes the pancreas to have to pump out larger and larger amounts of the hormone. It’s thought that high insulin levels adversely affect blood vessels, raise blood triglycerides, lowers HDL cholesterol, and may cause hypertension. If the pancreas wears out because it can’t keep making all that insulin, the person gets diabetes. According to Dr. Margolis: Many studies show that hyperinsulinemia- or high blood insulin levels- can put people at risk for high blood pressure and heart disease. High blood insulin hastens the development of atherosclerosis and enhances the formation of blood clots. This combination may block ablood vessel and cause an ischemic stroke; high blood pressure is the greatest risk factor for the other common types of strokes that rupture bloods vessels in the brain. The Negative Effects of Insulin Several hormones have been directly linked to arterial wall damage and insulin is one of them. Keep in mind that the ingestion of table sugar (sucrose) triggers the release of insulin from the pancreas. Insulin helps transport sugars from the blood stream into the cells where it can be used forenergy. Even though the sugar is utilized rather quickly, insulin may continue to circulate in the blood for hours. Although the exact mechanism isn’t fully understood, insulin somehow promotes the deposition of fats and cholesterol into the walls of arteries. (Lancet 87;1077-1079) (Prog.Cardiovascular Dis. 84;26:355-372)

The three most common complications of diabetes: blindness; amputations; and heart attacks; are all linked to blood vessel damage. Further more, by disrupting blood flow, diabetes has become the number one cause of impotency, as well as, making the diabetic seven times more likely to experience severe kidney damage. Diabetics who are able to control their blood sugar through diet and nutritional methods, rarely experience these complications, whereas those using insulin almost universally do unless they follow all of the guidelines and maintain stable blood sugar levels, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. Keep in mind that 85% to 90% for all adult-onset diabetes can be controlled by weight loss and diet alone. Toxins and DiabetesWASHINGTON, Mar 30, 2000(Reuters)

Provex CV - The Super Antioxidant

The Super Antioxidants,Why They Will Change the Face of Healthcare in the 21st Century by James F. Balch, M.D.Dr. Balch is an honor Graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. As a physician for thirty years, Dr. Balch is a member of the AMA and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is also is a licensed Certified Nutritional Consultant, from the American Association of Nutritional Consultants. What is Diabetes Mellitus Diabetes is a chronic disorder of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism that is manifested by elevations of the fasting blood sugar levels. Additionally, the diabetic is at greatly increased risk for heart disease, cerebral vascular stroke, kidney disease, and the so-called diabetic neuropathy, where peripheral nerve function is dramatically impaired. In diabetes, either the pancreas does not secrete enough insulin or the cells of the body become resistant to insulin; therefore, the blood sugar cannot get into the cells, which then leads to serious complications.

There are basically two types of diabetes:

Type I, which is an insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, occurring most often in youngsters or adolescents; and

Type II, or non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, which generally has an onset after the age of forty. In the past decade the incidence of Type II has become more apparent in younger children. Typically, million of people lose their vision because of undiagnosed diabetes, and complications from diabetes are the third leading cause of death in the United States.

The exact cause of Type I diabetes remains unknown. However a current theory is that injury to the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas, couple with some defect in the tissues ability to regenerate itself, produces diabetes mellitus. In Type I diabetes, the body’s immune system apparently begins to attack the pancreas. This auto-immune disease is strongly linked to free radicals that damage the beta cells of the pancreas. Obesity is a key contributing factor here, with approximately 90 percent of the Type II diabetics being overweight. Most important, ultimately achieving a normal body weight is associated with a restoration of normal blood sugar in the vast majority of these patients. The Biochemistry of Diabetes Here are two important considerations. The first has to do with glycosylation, the binding of glucose to proteins that leads to changes in the structure a function of the body’s proteins. In the diabetic, excessive glycosylation occurs with the proteins of the red blood cells, the lens of the eye, and the myelin sheath that surrounds the nerve cells of the nervous system. Glycosylation is not a good thing. Secondly, the diabetic produces a by-product of glucose metabolism called sorbitol. It is formed with the cell through the action of the enzyme aldose reductase. In the non-diabetic, sorbitol is formed but broken down readily into fructose, another simple sugar. This allows the sorbitol to be excreted from the cell. In the diabetic however, with frequent elevations of blood sugar levels, sorbitol accumulates in the cell and plays a major role in the complications of the diabetic. The following diseases are linked to diabetes mellitus: atherosclerosis, diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic food ulcers. The diabetic has a three times higher risk of dying prematurely of hardening of the arteries than the non-diabetic. Supplements and Diabetes The most important of all of the supplements for the diabetic is chromium. Many studies of the diabetic have shown that supplementation of the diet with chromium will decrease fasting blood sugar levels, improve glucose tolerance, lower insulin levels, and decrease total cholesterol and fat levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol. JAMA 1995; 73:1849-1854 Chromium deficiency may be the primary underlying factor contributing to the large number of Americans who suffer with blood sugar problems, both diabetes and hypoglycemia. Evidence is overwhelming that there is a significant chromium insufficiency in the United States. The Antioxidant Vitamin C

How is diabetes related to anti-oxidants? There are two reasons. Number one, free radical damage to the beta cells that produce insulin in the pancreas has been implicated as a primary cause of diabetes. Second, diabetic complications can be reduced drastically by the use of antioxidants. The transportation of vitamin C into the cells is accomplished by its connection to insulin. Therefore, diabetics often do not have enough intracelluar vitamin C, and vitamin C deficiency exists in many diabetics despite what would normally be considered adequate dietary consumption of vitamin C. Very important is the fact that vitamin C in high doses (at least 2,000milligrams per day) effectively reduces the accumulation of dangerous sorbitol in the red blood cells of diabetics. Diabetes 1989;38:1036-1041

Remember the accumulation of sorbitol is linked to many complications of diabetes, particularly eye and nerve disorders. Diabetics have an increased need for antioxidant nutrients like vitamins C an E due to increased oxidative stress. High dosages of vitamin E (e.g., 800 to 1200 IU) and vitamin C (>1,000mg) have been shown to improve not only antioxidant status, but also blood sugar control. Diabetic Medicine13:800-5, 1996

The Antioxidant Flavonoids: Flavonoids are very useful in treating diabetes. Quercetin promotes insulin secretion and along with other flavonoids is a potent inhibitor of sorbitol accumulation in the tissues and the blood. Sorbitol is dangerous in the red blood cells of diabetics. Flavonoids increase intracellular vitamin Clevels, resulting in less leakage of blood into the tissues, preventing bruising, and maybe most important, enhancing the immune system. The diabetic should consider increasing the amounts of flavonoids in their diet per day by adding a flavonoid-rich extract such as bilberry and grapeseed extract.

Provex CV a grapeseed extract and an Antioxidant Flavonoid contains quercitin, proanthocyanidins (grapeseed and skin) bilberry and gingko combined with a special enzyme blend that increases the bioavailability. Provex CV® was researched and developed by Dr. John Folts, Director of the Coronary Thrombosis Research Center at the Univ. of Wisconsin, and is owned by Melaleuca Inc. The extraction process for the proanthocyanidins from the grape seed and grape skin portion of Provex CV does not utilize a fermentation process, which is used by most commercial manufacturers. By eliminating the fermentation process there is no need to add sulfurdioxide as a preservative, which finds it way into the wine, and the extracts as sulfites. Many people have reactions to sulfites. Melaleuca’s Provex CV® does not have any sulfites in their products.

Looking Forward To A Long Life With Two Legs

I am a 42 years old diabetic. I have had diabetes for 18 years. One of the complications of diabetes is leg ulcers and healing is very difficult due to the poor circulation that often accompanies diabetes. I have had open sores on my right leg, on and off, for more than 10 years. I have had 6 skin grafting surgeries on my leg to cover open wounds that required lots of "down" time. But my leg continued to break down with open wounds. I spent over a year doing pulsavac treatments, sometimes daily. We would get one spot to heal and another would open up. My husband and I joined this company in April of 2001 because we felt that we could save money on household products and supplements that we already use. I heard about the benefits of Tea tree oil at the presentation we attended and read more about it after joining but I was still skeptical.

After everything I had been through with my leg I was scared to try anything else, besides that, the oil cost $10 for an ounce. Then my blond brain remembered that this company guarantees their products 100% and if it worked my leg was definitely worth 10 bucks and if it didn't work I wasn't out anything.

I checked with the physical therapist that was doing my treatments and she was beyond skeptical and suggested that I try it on only a small portion of my leg at first, which I did. Within the first week it was obvious that the part of my leg I was treating with the Tea tree oil was healing much faster than the other part. It was also restoring proper skin tone to the scarred portion of my leg from the surgeries. The physical therapist called it my "voodoo oil".

Now for the first time in over 2 years, I have no open sores on my leg, which means I get to keep it longer. I am now using the Mela-gel to keep my leg moisturized and conditioned and looking forward to a long, long, life with 2 legs to enjoy it with.

All Prescription Drugs Have Side Effects

Here is information from a March 21, 2000 press release from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA):

”The FDA today asked the manufacturer of Rezulin (troglitazone) -- a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus -- to remove the product from the market. The drug's manufacturer, Parke-Davis/Warner-Lambert, has agreed to FDA's request. ... Severe liver toxicity has been known to occur with Rezulin since 1997.”

This instance of using a prescription drug as one part of a diabetes treatment makes me think of the warning Dr. Alex Duarte, PhD in Nutrition, issued more than two decades ago: “With prescription drugs, it’s not a question of IF there are side effects. All prescription drugs have side effects. The question is how many side effects are there, and how severe are those side effects?”

Testimonial: Diabetic Neuropathy

My mom suffers from Diabetic Neuropathy and has been on our products for seven months. She takes the Vitality Pack, Cellwise, Provex Plus (3 a day), Provex CV, and Replenex as a natural treatment for diabetes. Mom also takes an additional Chromium and CoEnzyme Q10 supplement.
She noticed significant improvement after 60 days of starting on the supplements. She has experienced no pain or numbness since September. She also uses the Pain-a-trate to massage her feet nightly.
My mom took our products to her doctor for her seal of approval before taking them.

Neuropathy Testimonial

My husband is an insulin-dependent diabetic, and has been for the last 27 years. Within about ten years of his diagnosis, he started having the nerve endings die in his feet (neuropathy), and unfortunately, he belongs to the twenty percent of diabetics for whom this is a painful process. He says it's like someone took a match and held it to his feet, and many times it has kept him awake at night.
Shortly after we became steady customers, we read an article about a pharmacist who was on his feet ten to twelve hours a day, had diabetes and a lot of leg pain. Someone told him to take the ProVex-Plus for the leg pain, and it stopped his pain. That was when my husband started taking it for the first time.
Within a very short time (as in a day or two), he had the first relief from the pain that he'd had in years. He later had to use a capsaicin cream also, which he applied every night for a year. But once he started taking the ProVex-Plus, he has never stopped and he takes two or three a day. He would have been a basket case by now from the pain, and the ProVex-Plus has gone a long way in helping him be relatively pain-free.

The Wound Healed - A Personal Story

Terry told us a personal story last night that amazed us. Terry is diabetic and was told by her doctor that she would most likely lose one of her toes to gangrene. Her doc gave her something to put on the toe but she decided to try the t36-c7 oil and Triple Antibiotic Ointment instead. Her doctor was floored by how quickly and completely the wound healed and wanted to know what she had done. He said he had never seen a diabetic's wound heal that quickly. From: Andy

Book: Preventing Amputation

S.T.Clarks book concerning Tea tree oil and the diabetic is most informative: Diabetes & Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil by S. T. Clark . "A remedial relationship exists between diabetes and Tea tree oil. Just 60 years ago, doctors confirmed that this amazing oil was capable of healing and reversing severe diabetic gangrene and preventing amputation". This book was written by a type II insulin-dependent diabetic who routinely uses melaleuca alternifolia oil in his own diabetes care program.

Living with Diabetes for Over 36 Years

The Daily 4 Life Pack (love the new packets!), NutraView, 1 per day and Replenex, 2 to 3 per day

I have been using an insulin pump for 3 years now and use the liquid soap for cleaning the infusion injection site and the Renew Bath Oil when I remove the infusion to change the site and have had no problems with infections or healing. I use the Access bar before doing any strenuous exercise, which helps maintain my blood sugar and the Attain drinks and bars when I need a quick meal. We use many of the Melaleuca products through out our home now and would not be without them!

I thank God daily for the healing that has taken place in my body and for my wonderful family and friends for their prayers and their concern that have brought me this far.

I Was Very Skeptical

I wanted to write and tell you about the difference that Melaleuca
supplements have made in my life. I am 32, and was diagnosed with
diabetes during my last pregnancy (2 years ago). I was in denial for
about 6 months (after our son was born), and did absolutely nothing for
my diabetes. I didn't check my blood sugar, nor take insulin. Nothing.
I finally accepted the diagnosis and decided to do something about it.

I started taking my blood sugar, just to get a good idea of where it was
at. I was startled to find out that after only 6 months it was high,
averaging about 200. I then made an appointment with my doctor so she
could help me decide on my insulin doses. She noticed my blood sugars
were running around 200, depending upon what I had eaten and the amount
of exercise I had done. I started off with about 75 units of insulin a
day. I couldn't take oral medications because I was breastfeeding my
son. I had a HBA1C of 7.7.
Normal is 0-6.5. She said it was a bit
higher than the last one of 7.1, so she upped my dose of insulin to
between 80 and 100 units. I was feeling run down, and crabby, tired,
unable to sleep, always edgy, and felt terrible in general.

A good friend introduced me to Melaleuca in August of this year, and I
began taking the vitamins on September 1st. I was very skeptical, and was
SURE that Melaleuca would be giving me my money back in 90 days. I
didn't have the money to take the full recommended dose of ProvexCV for
my weight, but I did take 4 a day, and two of the Cell-Wise, Mel-Vita
and Mela-Cal. I didn't notice any difference in the first two weeks, or
even three weeks. But a few days after my 4th week started, I sat down
and took a good look at my blood sugar recording diary. I noticed that
I had not been taking any more than 40 units of insulin a day, down from
80-100. On occasion, I do have to use a bit more insulin in the
morning, once again depending upon my nighttime snack, and/or exercise.

My fasting blood sugar is now much closer to acceptable: 115-140, my
bedtime blood sugar has been running around 140, down from 200 only one
month before. I have noticed a huge increase in energy, I am able to
get to sleep and sleep longer, I am much more relaxed, and I generally
feel much better. I can attribute a lot of this to the Daily for Life
that I have been taking faithfully every day since September 1st. I
have also incorporated a short 30-minute walk into my morning routine.
I am sure this has something to do with my blood sugar results also.
Hopefully this will help someone you know.

The Optometrist

I wanted to let you know about my eye examination on Sept. 1/05. Being a Diabetic (since age 2) I, go every year for an exam plus dilation of the eye to check for eye problems.

As the Optometrist was checking my eyes he could not believe a Diabetic at 57 Years old did not have a single tell tale sign of broken blood vessels or start of cataracts. He said I had beautiful eyes with 20/20 vision and he had never seen that before in a Diabetic. He said it's unheard of. I know it's the NutraView plus the other Nutritionals that I take that have been a big factor.

I mentioned Melaleuca's NutraView as I have done before with him but he still doesn't really believe they help much.

Thanks,

Murray

19 Year Old Boy Diagnosed With Diabetes

I went to a presentation that Jim McCune gave this summer and when he approached the subject of Vitality for Life a woman raised her hand, apologized for interrupting but had to share her testimony. She proceeded to tell us her son is 19 and was diagnosed with Diabetes, and was immediately put on insulin. She began to give him the Vitality Gold pack. He took the vitamins every morning and evening and each day they would check his sugar levels. Well with each day he was on the Vitality Gold he needed less and less insulin. By the fifth day, he no longer needed the insulin and continued to take the Vitality Gold. Wow talk about a difference in your health.

ACCESS BAR – I lost 12 pounds!

For years, it has been difficult for me to lose weight because of my diabetes and blood sugar--I am not that overweight, but I am not where I could be and would like to be. After I had Savannah, I lost a LOT of weight while nursing but then gained it back when I stopped nursing. SOooooooooooooooooooooooooo, this past March when my husband and I applied for life insurance, I was denied by the first company due to my history of diabetes, and now my cholesterol was elevated as well! THAT WAS MY WAKE UP!!! Since then, I have joined a gym to get it together. I am very pleased to say that just since the beginning of April with exercising 3 to 5 times a week WITH THE ACCESS BAR, I have lost 12 pounds and will find out in the next couple of months what my cholesterol level now is!!! I am soooooooo excited because I have been a Type I diabetic for 25 years and have NEVER been able to lose weight before now--THANK YOU ACCESS BAR!!! I would also encourage anyone who is trying to lose weight to plug in to EXERCISE--with Exercise and the Access Bar hand in hand, you've got a winning combination!!!

Thankful

When I first joined Melaleuca in late December, I was on seven different medications. Three for high blood pressure, two for high cholesterol, one for type 2 diabetes, and one for acid reflux. I was also taking 81mg aspirin for my heart, potassium supplements to help suppress leg and foot cramping (a side effect of the diuretics) and 3 fish oil tablets a day. That's just the prescriptions and what my doctor told me to take, which didn't include my multi-vitamin and calcium tablets.

Anyway, all the prescriptions were really getting to me. I felt like I was a slave to them. I couldn't go anywhere without taking along my personal pharmacy. God forbid I get stranded somewhere
overnight due a blizzard or something. But the biggest thing was, every single drug on the market has side effects, without exception. Some are worse than the symptom they are supposed to be treating. Drugs aren't even designed to cure, only to suppress symptoms. I felt lousy. My energy was gone, my enthusiasm waned, I felt trapped.

I started taking the Daily for Life pack the first part of January. I was curious; hopeful but curious. That was five months ago. Time for a blood test and a check up with the mad prescription writer. Well! I couldn't believe it! My LDL cholesterol level was 110 (it had been over 200, and I had been taking medication for cholesterol for years without it hardly coming down at all), hemoglobin good, blood pressure 132/80. (At one point, my blood pressure had been twice
normal...240/160! the nurse almost had a heart attack herself!). And I lost 2 pounds to boot! He only rewrote THREE prescriptions! Down to 2 for my blood pressure, and one for the diabetes.

I copied a description page for each of the products in the Daily for Life pack and the page where it gives how many of each is included in each days' packets and gave them to my doctor. He was actually familiar with Melaleuca (his daughter takes it). He said that as far as he knew, they were one of the better products out there. He put the info packet in my folder, and told me to keep up the good work.

I salute Melaleuca for helping to make me feel human again. As I told my doctor, I feel better than I have in years!

Thank you Melaleuca.

Access Bar Great for Diabetics

I started taking Replenex about 1 year ago, and I would say that in about 6 months or less, I was able to get off all of my pain meds! I was taking Celebrex, and Prednisone, and literally handfuls of Advil every day! I am so thankful for this product, I always keep an extra bottle so I never run out!

Also, last October, I was diagnosed with diabetes, and my triglycerides were up to 574, and I started taking Lipitor which made me very sick, so I then tried Phytomega, and stopped the Lipitor, and at last check, my tryglycerieds were down to 304! And my cholesterol and my blood sugar were completely normal! I'm sure everything has dropped even lower, I'm due for another blood check this week!

Also, the Access bars are great for diabetics when they have blood sugar drop! I love these products!

PCOS - A Personal Story

I have what's called PCOS and it is a condition that causes arthritis, diabetes, and high cholesterol. I was to the point that I was not able to walk up the stairs without help or sitting down and "scooting". It also causes excess amniotic fluid when I have children and that is dangerous for my health also. I had tried everything and nothing was helping.

My doctor told me to go through a detox and that that might help. I found another company that offered a "detox" program that had helped allot of people with PCOS. I looked at all the info and found that I could duplicate that system with Melaleuca products. I drink the fiber-wise drink 3-4x a day to rid my system of toxins, I also drink the sustain sport Drink 3-4x a day to replenish my cells of the nutrients they need. Coupled with the Vitality Pack, Phytomega, and Replenex I am now pain free TOTALLY and can raise my 3 children as a normal mother, and not a 28-year-old feeling like a 60-year-old.

If this had not changed my doctor said that I would probably be in a wheelchair within a year. My diabetes is under control, and my cholesterol is now in the normal range.

This has all happened within a 1-month period of time.

For The First Time He Was Given the Same Life Insurance Rate as Non-Diabetics.

The following is a case of a white male diabetic who is approximately 46 years of age, he has never been over weight, and he has a good diet and is self-employed and owns a physical therapy clinic. He has been taking insulin by injection for over 14 years. In November 1997, over lunch, I explained to him the importance of anti-oxidants, the mineral chromium and the herbal extract ginko biloba on glucose metabolism. For diabetics the less insulin that they have to use to lower their blood sugar levels the better. This also holds true for everyone. The amount of sugar in your blood is a result of what you eat. According to Dr. Simeon Margolis, M. D., Ph. D. , professor of medicine and biological chemistry Johns Hopkins Medical School, high blood insulin levels can put people at risk for high blood pressure and heart disease. High blood insulin hastens the development of arteriosclerosis and enhances the formation of blood clots causing a stroke or heart attack. Keep this in mind, sucrose or white table sugar triggers the release of insulin from the pancreas. Insulin helps transport sugars from the blood stream into the cells where it can be used for energy. Even though the sugar is utilized rather quickly, insulin continues to circulate in the blood for hours. Insulin helps to promote the deposition of fats and cholesterol into the walls of arteries according to the British Medical Journal, (Lancet 87; 1:1077-1079) and the journal (Prog. Cardiovascular Disease. 84;26:355-372. )

After explaining to my friend the importance of various nutrients that are known to help decrease insulin requirements, I convinced him to try the Vitality Pack and the Provex CV for 30 days at no cost. If he did not notice a difference in his insulin requirements and didn't feel better overall, then he would not have to repay me for these products. The only stipulation was that he be consistent with the daily-recommended dosages and that he CHECK HIS BLOOD GLUCOSE at least 2 to 3 times per day.

After 30 days I called and asked him what he had experienced. He was very pleased and informed me that his blood glucose level has never been this stable and consistent. He also felt better and his wife stated that he was much easier to get along with! He agreed to set-up an account and wanted to start buying Melaleuca products for himself, his home and for his clinic. Two weeks ago he informed me that he applied for life insurance again, and for the first time he was given the same rate as non-diabetics. Needless to say, he now feels that it is time to start telling a few more of his friends and patients about these products that have helped him.

Melaleuca, Inc. has products that can help people. If their products were not effective, then they would not still be in business. I realize that most people are skeptical and that is to be expected, but when you can solve some ones problem, then they will be more willing to listen.

Comments:
1. One of reason for the success in this case is due to the fact that the patented fructose chelated minerals that are pre-bonded to the fructose molecule. Most minerals in supplemental form are poorly absorbed. The fructose minerals in the Vitality Pak have a high rate of absorption allowing them to enter the cell. Considering the fact that fructose is a carbohydrate, and under normal circumstances carbohydrates are seldom eliminated in the urine. Carbohydrates are used for fuel in the form of glucose, converted to glycogen for future fuel reserves or converted to fat. When the diabetic is able to absorb the mineral chromium, studies have shown that chromium will decrease fasting blood sugar levels, improve glucose tolerance, lower insulin levels, land decrease total cholesterol and fat levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol. (JAMA 1995; 73:1849-1854)

2. The anti-oxidant benefits from the Provex CV, which is a super anti-oxidant, helps to reduce further diabetic complications that result from free radicals damaging the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Flavonoids, like grape seed, grape skin, bilberry, ginko biloba and especially quercitin, promote insulin secretion and inhibit the accumulation of sorbitol in the tissues and blood.

Provide the Body with the Proper Raw Materials

In the past I have sent few testimonials or case studies involving natural nutrients. Making claims about cures concerning nutrients is something that we must be careful about. Unfortunately some people may read them and discontinue their prescribed medication, which could lead to problems. Discontinuing prescription medication should not be attempted without the approval of their doctor. I realize that more and more people are treating themselves and that is your choice. Remember, nutrients may not work the same for everyone, because no two individuals have the same diets, same metabolisms, and same needs or follow the recommended dosages. The goal with natural medicines and nutrients is to provide the body with the proper raw materials so the body can prevent disease and allow the immune system to function at a higher level. Give the body the right nutrients and exercise and it will take care of itself. In most cases you will not become as ill and require as much treatment!

Right on the Money

My husband has diabetes. In addition to him eating properly, I have him on the Vitality Pak, Provex Plus, Provex CV, this is an important one, as you know diabetics usually don't have great circulation and the Provex CV helps, I also have him on Prostavan, and Cell Wise. He goes to the doctors every 3 months for blood work and so far his has been right on the money. His doctors are impressed and so is he. He only uses the Melaleuca products.
